Who are we?
Ken’s FM is an independent, locally owned and operated community public radio station covering Fargo-Moorhead and the lakes region of west central Minnesota with 100,000 watts. We feature an adult modern rock format with local music added throughout the day. Plus Feature Story News at the top of the hour, local weather updates and live broadcasts of local music events.
KNNZ
KNNZ-FM is currently broadcasting at a power of 100,000 watts with tower facilites near Barnsville, Minnesota. On January 17th, 2014 the FCC granted us authority to broadcast with 100,000 watts from a 300ft. tower which will cover the Fargo Moorhead area as well as the lakes area of west central Minnesota. A view of the coverage area can be seen from the map Here. This is truley an exciting time, we now have a terrestrial service for Ken's FM as well as a web stream. You can now hear local music and modern virtually anywhere in Fargo Moorhead and the lakes region of west central Minnesota on KNNZ-FM. Ken's FM plays a mix of 4 decades of new wave/alternative/modern rock music. The mix is a blend of about 40% new modern rock with a lot of 80's 90's and 2000's to fill it out. We hand picked all the tracks and add new modern rock on a weekly basis to keep everything fresh. NO one-size-fits-all corporate researched format here! Isn't it great to listen to a station that plays your favorite tracks from the last few decades and STILL keeps you up to date with new artists and songs?
Local Music
We support the local music community, for over a decade now we have been bringing in local musicians and bands to play live in our studios and then play the recordings made during the performance throughout the day sprinkled into our play list.
